John G. "Johnny" Pare

Concord, NC 1936-1940

  • Baseball Catcher 1936-1938

  • 1938 Signed MLB Professional Contract in the Florida State League

  • 1939 Signed with the Concord Weavers Class D NC State League and caught 1,672 consecutive innings for the Weavers between 1939 and 1940

  • 1943 he signed with the Baltimore Orioles of the AA International League and was hitting for a .375 average 

  • 1946 Manager of the Tampa Baseball Team - Florida State League winning League Championship

  • 1947 Manager of the Greenville, NC Team - Coastal Plain League. 

  • 1952 returned to Concord and helped organize Little League Baseball here

  • 1953 Concord National All-Stars, coached by Johnny Pare and Cliff Evans, Won the NC Little League State Championship and advanced to the World Series in Birmingham, AL

  • MLB Scout for the Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox

  • 1955-1957 Coached the Concord American Legion Post 51 Baseball Team

  • He and his Son Ron are the 1st Father/Son Inductees into the CCSHOF
