Ken was Junior class Vice-President at J.W. Cannon High School and Senior class President at A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis, 1952

Selected to the A.L. Brown High School Hall of Fame

Ken graduated from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and served two years in the U.S. Army

1985 Member of the Kannapolis Charter Commission and Interim City Council that led to Kannapolis becoming Incorporated as a City. 

He served in various management positions with Cannon Mills, Concord Telephone Company and 20 years of Certified Public Accounting prior to retiring.
