Football 1949 Starting Offensive and Defensive Tackle for the Varsity Team as a Freshman.  Excellent Blocker and Tackler

1950 Started as an Offensive and Defensive Tackle.  On Offense he opened large “holes” for the running backs and led the Defense in Tackles behind the line of scrimmage for losses.  Selected All County.

1951 Started as an Offensive and Defensive Tackle.  Selected All County, All Conference and All Piedmont as a Lineman.

1952 4^th year he started as an Offensive and Defensive Tackle. Team was Undefeated County and Conference Champions. 

He was selected All County and All Conference as a Lineman.

The Greensboro Daily News named him First Team All Piedmont.

The Charlotte Observer and Greensboro Daily News named him All State.

Selected to play in the 1952 NC/SC Shrine Bowl Game as a Starting Defensive Tackle.

1953-1957 Accepted a Full Football Scholarship to attend Catawba College. He played 4 years and attained his BS in Education Degree in 1958.

He Served in the US Army and remained in the Army Reserves after he was discharged.

1957 He began his Teaching career in Rowan County. While teaching he received his Master’s Degree in Administration from UNC-Charlotte and later became a Principal until he retired in1992.
