Cabarrus County Schools 1990 - Present
1981-85 Northwest Cabarrus High School where he played three years of varsity baseball and two years of varsity football.
1985-90 Attended and graduated from Appalachian State University where he earned a BS Degree in Health and Physical Education. He began teaching and coaching in Cabarrus County Schools in 1990.
1991-2007 Taught P.E. and coached baseball and football at Central Cabarrus; Head baseball coach from 1996-2007 where his teams compiled a record of 215-89-1
His Central Cabarrus teams won numerous championships: 1996 Conference Tourney Champions; 1997 Conference and District 3-A Champions; 1999 Conference Tourney Champions; 2000 District and Sectional 3-A Champions; 2001 Conference Regular Season and Tourney Champions; 2003 Conference and District 3-A Champions; 2005 Conference Tourney and District 3-A Champions; and 2006 Conference Champions.
1998-2000 Head baseball coach for Concord American Legion Post 51 baseball team where his teams won two Regular Season championships with an overall record of 66-34.
2008-12 Head baseball coach at Mount Pleasant High School where his teams compiled a record of 101-45
His Mount Pleasant teams won multiple championships: 2008 Conference Champions; 2009 District and Sectional 3-A Champions; 2010 Conference Champions; and 2011 Conference Tourney Champions; selected to coach the N.C. State Games for five years and coached in the East/West Senior State Game.
1997-2012 qualified for the NCHSAA playoffs a Cabarrus County baseball record of 16 consecutive years.
Selected as Conference baseball Coach of the Year six times (1997, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2006 and 2008).
Cabarrus County Schools baseball coaching record: 316-134-1 while achieving a 70.22% winning percentage, the highest winning percentage in county history.
2002-07 Director of Athletics for Central Cabarrus.
2013-present Director of Athletics for Cabarrus County Schools.
2022-26 Served on the NCHSAA Board of Directors four years and NCHSAA Executive Committee for two years.
2025 Received the prestigious NCHSAA “Charlie Adams” Distinguished Service Award.
