1951-1953 Baseball Pitcher/Outfielder and was selected All County and All Conference 1952 and 1953.
1951-1952 Pitcher Kannapolis American Legion Post 115 Team
1952 Kannapolis American Legion Post 115 won the NC State American Legion Championship and Ron was named to the Carolina Dream Team.
1953 Baseball Team Won the Conference Championship and the WNCHSAA State 3-A Championship.
1952-1953 Basketball Team Won the Conference championship and Won the WNCHSAA State 3-A State Championship
1953 Signed with MLB Pittsburgh Pirates. Played minor league baseball for 11 seasons.
1958 and 1959 played for the Pittsburgh Pirates
1964-1968 Western Carolina University Teacher and Head Baseball Coach
