David "Glenn" Caldwell

Northwest Cabarrus High School 1971-1974

  • Football 3 Years and Captain 1973

  • 1970 North Carolina State Babe Ruth Championship. Hit the Winning Home Run 

  • 1973 Conference Champions and finished in 2nd in NCHSAA 3A State playoffs.  Hit more home runs his senior season than all Cabarrus County high schools combined

  • 1974 Drafted by MLB Philadelphia Phillies.

  • 1975-1977 Awarded a Baseball Scholarship to Clemson University

  • 1976 team Won Conference Championship, Regional Championship and 

played in College World Series.

  • 1976 Runner-up for Conference Player of the Year

  • 1977 team Won the Regionals and returned to College World Series

  • During the College World Series he set the Record for most doubles in

a game.  Selected All Conference, All College World Series Team and All American

  • 1977 Drafted by MLB Baltimore Orioles.  Played for the Baltimore organization, the Charlotte Orioles and Miami Orioles

  • Coached Baseball at Concord, JM Robinson and South Rowan High Schools and Concord’s American Legion Post 51 Team.
