Burl S. Morris

Concord High School 1953-1957

  • Football 4 Years, Baseball 4 years and Basketball 2 Years

  • 1956 Football All-County 

  • 1957 Baseball All County and All Conference team

  • 1953-1955 Concord’s Post 51 American Legion Baseball Team

  • 1957-1961 Attended and graduated from East Carolina University where he lettered 4 years in Baseball

  • 1961 Catcher for ECU’s National Championship Baseball team

  • 1962 began Teaching career at Mooresville High School and was Head Baseball Coach for 2 years

  • 1964 Burl began teaching and coaching at East Rowan High School Coaching baseball there for 4 years Winning two Conference Championships

  • 1966 moved to Thomasville where he taught and coached at the Thomasville Middle School while pursuing his Master’s Degree in Administration. He later became an Assistant Principal at Thomasville Middle School.

  • Taught and Coached in the Thomasville City School system for 27 years and retired in 1975 after a total of 33 years.
