Richard L. Lefler

Hartsell High School 1960-1964

  • Football, Basketball and Baseball 4 Years earning 12 letters

  • All-Conference in Football, Basketball and Baseball 1961-1964

  • Pitched 4 no-hit, no-run games and never lost a game as a pitcher in HS.

  • 1964 Pitched a “perfect” game against Parkwood High School and posted a .078 earned run average

  • 1961-1964 Concord’s American Legion Post 51 Baseball Team

  • 1963-1964 averaged 22 points per game for Hartsell in Basketball

  • 1964 scored 58 points in an All-Star game

  • 1965 Signed a Professional Baseball Contract with the Baltimore Orioles

  • 1965-1967 Class “A” Rookie League in Bluefield, West Virginia

  • 1968 picked up by the New York Mets

  • After retiring from Baseball, he played Softball with Lynn-Corriher, Shelby’s Major Open Team, the Carolina “A’s,” Ritchie Auto Parts and won a Class “C” State Championship.
