  • 1958 Football Co-Captain, All-Conference and Lineman of the Year

  • 1958 All-State Football Team

  • 1959 Scholarship to Lenoir Rhyne University and graduated in 1963

  • 1959-1963 played and lettered in Football and Baseball at L-R University

  • 1960 Team’s Most Improved Player

  • 1962 Captain of the Football Team

  • Played in 3 NAIA National Championship Bowl games 1959, 1960 and

1962. The 1960 Team won the NAIA National Championship

  • 1962 Outstanding Lineman in the Team’s National Semi-Final win over

Northern State (SD)

  • 1960-1962 All-Conference and All-NAIA District Player

  • 1962 All-State Collegiate Team by the Greensboro Daily News

  • 1988 Inducted into the Lenior Rhyne University Sports Hall of Fame
