Shonte Pinkston Grigley

A three-sport athlete in Track and Field, Basketball and Softball

Her track events were the 100 and 200 meter dashes and the 4x400 meter relay

Shonta finished first or second in the 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash and 4x400 meter relay 1995-1997

Her best time in the 100 meter dash was 12.1 seconds

Was the Conference and Cabarrus County Champion in all three events making All-Conference and All-County  

Participated in the 1997 NCHSAA Midwest 3A Regional Track Meet in the 100 meter dash and qualified for the NC State 3A Championships

Won A. L. Brown’s Women’s Track Coach Award in 1997

Awarded scholarship to Appalachian State University and attended ASU from 1997-2001

Was a member of ASU’s Women’s Indoor and Outdoor Track Teams

Was named Southern Conference Freshman of the Year in 1998

ASU’s Women’s Track 4x400 meter relay set an NCAA record
