Melissa Morrison-Howard

A.L. Brown High School 1985-1989

 

• Track and Field 4 Years All County, All Conference and All State

• Won 4 State Championships - 100 meters, 200 meters, 100-meter hurdles, and the triple jump.

• 1989-1993 attended Appalachian State University where she excelled in Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field

• 17 Individual Conference Championships in 6 different events at ASU

• Two-Time All-American - 8 Conference Championships in 4 years at ASU

• 4 U.S. Championships in the indoor 60-meter hurdles (1998, 1999, 2000, 2002)

• 2000 Olympics in Sydney - Bronze Medal in the 100-meter hurdles.

• 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece - Bronze Medal in the 100-meter hurdles

• 2003 Bronze Medal World Indoor Championships and National Indoor Championship.

• 2009 Inducted into the Southern Conference Hall of Fame

• Track and Field Coach at Appalachian State University and the University of South Carolina.
