• Football 3 Year Starter, All County, All Conference 1958 & 1959

• Team Captain and MVP 1959

• Basketball 2 Year Starter, All County, All Conference 1959-1960

• Baseball 3 Year Starter, All County, All Conference 1960

• 1960-1964 Football Scholarship to Mars Hill University.

• 3 Year Starter 1961-1963 All Conference and All American 1964

• 1965 Graduated from Mars Hill University with a Degree in Education and began Teaching and Coaching at Mt. Pleasant High School 

• 1965-1996 Teacher, Head Football Coach Mt. Pleasant High School (1968-1983) and Athletic Director (1969-1995)

• Won Conference and District Championships in Football and received Coach of the Year in Cabarrus County and Conference Coach of the Year several times.

• Mt. Pleasant High School’s Football Field was renamed “Larry Honeycutt Field”.
