Claude "Bear" Little

Winecoff High School 1938-1942 

• Football All-County, All-Conference and Team MVP. Baseball All-County and All-Conference – 4 years

• 1942 entered U.S. Army in the European Theater of Operations (ETO). Played Football, Baseball and Softball.

• 1943-1944 played for the 47th Infantry Division and was the top center and linebacker in their Region.

• All-ETO Baseball Team and Softball Team

• 1945 Attended Catawba College where he played Football 3 years

• 1947 Athletic Director of the Concord Boys Club. 1957 Executive Director of the Concord Boys Club until his retirement.

• 1953 All-State Fast Pitch Softball and 1959 All-State Slow Pitch Softball

• Active member of American Legion Post 51 where he was the Post Commander and Coached the Baseball team for several years

• 1976 NC State American Legion Hall of Fame
