Billy Ford

Hartsell High School 1940-1944 

  • Baseball 4 Years – All Conference and All County 1941-1944

  • Team MVP and Captain 1944

  • 1944-1947 Baseball Scholarship to Catawba College

  • 1947-1958 After Graduation with a Degree in Education he played Professional Baseball with the Cincinnati Reds Organization as an Infielder.

  • 1950-1952 was in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

  • Played Baseball in Class “A” and Class “B” levels for the Thomasville Hi-Toms in the Carolina League before retiring in 1958.

  • 1960-1988 was a Teacher, Coach and Athletic Director at Concord High School.

  • Coached Girl’s Basketball, Football, Baseball, Cross Country and Golf.

  • Won Multiple Conference, District and Sectional Championships in each Sport and was Coach of the Year 4 times.

  • Head Baseball Coach of the 1961 Kannapolis American Legion Post 115 Baseball Team that won the State Championship.

  • 2019 Inducted into the Concord High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
