1947-1958 After Graduation with a Degree in Education he played Professional Baseball with the Cincinnati Reds Organization as an Infielder.

1950-1952 was in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Played Baseball in Class “A” and Class “B” levels for the Thomasville Hi-Toms in the Carolina League before retiring in 1958.

1960-1988 was a Teacher, Coach and Athletic Director at Concord High School.

Coached Girl’s Basketball, Football, Baseball, Cross Country and Golf.

Won Multiple Conference, District and Sectional Championships in each Sport and was Coach of the Year 4 times.

Head Baseball Coach of the 1961 Kannapolis American Legion Post 115 Baseball Team that won the State Championship.

2019 Inducted into the Concord High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
